Recently many new products presenting apparent "improvements" have been introduced into the market. Some companies add a white pigment (titanium dioxide) to the line and call it "Titanium". Some add aluminum flakes to their line or show a "high strength core" that appears to be wire but is actually just colored nylon. These products are sold at a premium price, but they are produced from the same old commodity polymers used for fishing line. The use of aluminum flakes or other items actually reduces strength, abrasion resistance, and flexural fatigue and contributes to "voids" (bubbles) in the line. Don't let appearances fool you into paying more.
